Country Within a Country: The impact of one supermarket on the Filipino community
When NU Asian Magazine announced a food-themed issue, I knew I wanted to pitch an article that would highlight Filipino cuisine. I reported on Seafood City, a Filipino supermarket chain with a branch in Chicago. I conducted person-on-the-street interviews at the store itself as well as longer interviews with members of Kaibigan, Northwestern's Philippine Student Organization. I also framed the piece with my own anecdotal experience to make the article more personal and reflective.

Eric Andre takes crude humor to new heights at Cahn Auditorium
Although I've been a fan of The Eric Andre Show for some time, I had no idea what to expect from the comedian's standup set. This show was incredibly raunchy and over-the-top, and was one of my favorite entertainment shows to report on and photograph.

Reflecting on "Jesus is King: A Kanye West Experience"
As a longtime fan of Kanye West's music, I was ecstatic when he announced a surprise listening party for his then-forthcoming album, Jesus is King. This is My Jam: Thoughts on every MCU movie off the top of my head
"This is My Jam" is a column on North by Northwestern's entertainment section where contributors write about any piece of entertainment they enjoy. I was NBN's entertainment editor when "Avengers: Endgame" came out, and shortly before the film's release, I decided to write about the Marvel Cinematic Universe that this movie would be the culmination of. While my initial plan was to write about one or two significant movies, I realized I had thoughts on nearly every film in the franchise. I wrote about nearly every movie in the MCU and had my friend and fellow entertainment writer Joan write about the "Ant-man" movies, which I hadn't seen.
